SAVE Case Creation Website Enhancements

On Feb. 5, 2024, SAVE users will see updates to SAVE’s case creation screens. SAVE is updating these screens to add helper text, expand data field labels, and include new options for entering benefit applicant information.

These updates are designed to make the data entry process clearer and assist users with entering correct data into SAVE. Entering correct data into SAVE greatly increases the likelihood users will receive an automated response and can reduce or eliminate the need for manual case review. As part of these updates, SAVE is adding reference links to the current Additional Verification Response Time, which is now available at www.uscis.gov/save.

Updates include:

  • Updated vertical format to make it easier to identify and complete fields.
  • New helper text icons located next to data fields that, when selected, will display a definition and examples of where to find information on certain immigration documents.
  • Surname field label expanded to include given and family name labels.
  • Given name field label expanded to include first name.
  • New drop-down boxes for date selections. (Users may also continue to type in dates.)
  • Simplified checkboxes for selecting the benefits requested by the applicant and additional information your agency may need.  The simplified layout visually condenses information, making it easier to review the list of selections before submitting a case.
  • Helper text outlining size and format for uploading documents.  Ensuring documents are correctly uploaded reduces the need for resubmission and ensures SAVE team members can access and review documents as efficiently as possible.
  • New language on the SAVE Case Details page. The “Additional Verification Response Time” header has been changed to “When Can I Expect An Update?” and provides a link to the Additional Verification Response Time information posted at www.uscis.gov/SAVE.
  • New link on the SAVE resources page to the Additional Verification Response Time information posted at www.usics.gov/SAVE.
  • Examples of immigration documents and the enumerators contained in them are available on the SAVE Commonly Used Immigration Documents webpage.

Please send any questions or concerns to SAVE.Help@uscis.dhs.gov.
