E-Verify Records Scheduled for Disposal

E-Verify employers have until Jan. 5, 2025, to download records for E-Verify cases last updated on or before Dec. 31, 2014. On Jan. 6, 2025, USCIS will dispose of these E-Verify records that are more than 10 years old.
DHS Secretary Implements Employment Authorization, Automatically Extends Certain EADs for Individuals Covered by Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) for Liberia

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas is implementing employment authorization through June 30, 2026, for certain Liberians, or individuals having no nationality who last habitually resided in Liberia, covered by Deferred Enforced Departure (DED). If your employee’s EAD has a Card Expires date of March 30, 2020, Jan. 10, 2021, June 30, 2022, or June 30, 2024, and a Category Code of A11, it is valid through June 30, 2026. Covered individuals may also apply for a new EAD that will be valid through June 30, 2026.
Ukrainian Employees with Parole

The Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024, was recently signed into law. Due to the passage of this law, guidance that “UHP” and “DT” parolees must have entered by Sept. 30, 2023, has been changed to Sept 30, 2024. In light of this legislation, we updated our guidance below regarding which Ukrainian parolees are employment authorized incident to their parole and may present their unexpired Form I-94 as an acceptable List A receipt that temporarily shows identity and employment authorization for Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification for up to 90 days from the date of hire or in the case of reverification, when the date employment authorization expires:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services updated the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification to extend the expiration date to 05/31/2027.
Somalia Redesignated for TPS and TPS Extended for 18 Months; Certain EADs Automatically Extended Through Sept. 17, 2025

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas extended and redesignated Somalia for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) from Sept. 18, 2024, through March 17, 2026. Nationals of Somalia and individuals with no nationality who last habitually resided in Somalia may submit an initial registration application under the redesignation of Somalia for TPS and apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). Current beneficiaries who want to maintain their status must re-register and may apply for new EADs.
TPS for Yemen Extended and Redesignated for 18 Months; Certain EADs Automatically Extended Through Sept. 3, 2025

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas extended and redesignated Yemen for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) from Sept. 4, 2024, through March 3, 2026. Given the time frames for processing TPS re-registration and Employment Authorization Document (EAD) renewal applications, USCIS has automatically extended through Sept. 3, 2025, the validity of EADs with a Card Expires date of Sept. 3, 2024, or March 3, 2023, issued under the TPS designation for Yemen.
Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti Extended and Redesignated for 18 Months; Certain Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) Automatically Extended Through Aug. 3, 2025

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas extended and redesignated Haiti for TPS for 18 months, from Aug. 4, 2024, through Feb. 3, 2026. Given the time frames for processing TPS re-registration applications, USCIS has automatically extended through Aug. 3, 2025, the validity of EADs issued under the prior TPS designation of Haiti with a Card Expires date of: • Aug. 3, 2024; • June 30, 2024; • Feb. 3, 2023; • Dec. 31, 2022; • Oct. 4, 2021; • Jan. 4, 2021; • Jan. 2, 2020; • July 22, 2019; • Jan. 22, 2018; or • July 22, 2017.
USCIS Issues Notices Extending Certain TPS EADs Through March 9, 2025

USCIS is issuing Form I-797, Notice of Action, to certain Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries who are eligible to re-register for TPS or have a pending application to renew their Form I-766, Employment Authorization Document (EAD).
USCIS Updates Have A New Email Address
June 18, 2024
On June 18, USCIS updated its email messaging service to enhance the security and authenticity of its communications. Messages will now come from uscis@messages.dhs.gov rather than the previously used  “@public.govdelivery.com” domain.Additionally, messages will now be consistently sent as bulletins on behalf of our DHS Secretary and USCIS Director. This will help unify our communications and reinforce a trusted source of our information.We are continually working to better serve you. Stay tuned for more!
Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Ethiopia Extended and Redesignated for 18 Months; Certain EADs Automatically Extended Through June 12, 2025

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas extended and redesignated Ethiopia for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) from June 13, 2024, through Dec. 12, 2025. Nationals of Ethiopia and individuals with no nationality who last habitually resided in Ethiopia may submit an initial registration application under the redesignation of Ethiopia for TPS and apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). Current beneficiaries who want to maintain their status must re-register and may apply for new EADs.
