USCIS Opens International Field Office in Quito, Ecuador
USCIS will open an international field office in Quito, Ecuador, on Sept. 10, 2024. We are expanding our international presence in this strategic location to support refugee processing in Ecuador and the Americas, facilitate family reunification, and maintain programs that strengthen our immigration system.
Opening this new office is consistent with the Department of Homeland Security’s commitment to facilitate safe, legal, and orderly migration and meet our humanitarian mission. USCIS staff at the Quito Field Office will provide immigration expertise to the U.S. embassy and regional partners in support of the Oficinas de Movilidad Segura, or Safe Mobility Offices, in Ecuador. The Safe Mobility initiative facilitates expedited refugee processing through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program and provides information and referrals to other lawful migration pathways to the United States and other countries.
In addition to supporting refugee processing, the USCIS Quito Field Office will assume responsibility for processing Form I-730, Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition, overseeing DNA sample collection, conducting overseas verification requests, and other USCIS workloads that the Department of State’s consular staff currently handles. USCIS will perform certain fraud detection-related activities and provide other limited services.

This will be the 12th USCIS international field office. The other international USCIS field offices are in Ankara, Turkey; Beijing, China; Doha, Qatar; Guangzhou, China; Guatemala City, Guatemala; Havana, Cuba; Mexico City, Mexico; Nairobi, Kenya; New Delhi, India; San Salvador, El Salvador; and Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
